Lumis Ensemble was founded in March 2025 by Portuguese flautist Inês Paiva. Consisting of four renowned European musicians, the ensemble comprises Inês Paiva (flute), Anja Rajić (violin), Claudia Besné (harp) and Astrid Nyborg Berg (guitar).

The ensemble is an active part of the interdisciplinary project Mindful Image and Unique Beauty, and in June 2025 they premiered works by four international female composers: Anna Carlén (Sweden), Natalie Schäfer (Germany), Amalia Garay Lukács (Chile), and Pauline Lunow (Germany). Created in collaboration with two visual artists, Sílvia Ferreira and Maria Inês Lourenço (Portugal), the project is based on the poem Mirror by Sylvia Plath. 

By performing new music written primarily by female composers, the ensemble aims to educate audiences and share new music featuring interesting and original instrument combinations, challenging the conventions of contemporary music and exploring the fusion of different instruments' sounds and textures.

Following this, the ensemble will continue to perform in Skåne and prepare for a tour of Germany in September 2026. In July 2026, they will announce their first Composition Competition in collaboration with the Malmö Guitarrforum.
